LUDLOW, Mass. – Walter Mazza scored 23 points Wednesday as the McCann Tech boys basketball team earned its fourth straight win, a 64-44 victory over Ludlow.

The Hornets held the Lions to eight points in the second quarter to take a 32-22 lead into half-time and outscored the hosts, 19-8, in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

“I loved our effort defensively, and we hit a big run in the second half,” McCann Tech coach Chris Bullett said. “Mazza was great tonight and owned the glass. We also got a good contribution from Moe Alexander.”

Alexander finished the night with five points. Jacob Howland and Eric Rougeau scored 11 and 10, respectively.

Mazza was most productive in the pivotal second and fourth quarters, scoring 17 of his 23 in those periods.

McCann Tech (8-3) is home on Friday against Baystate Academy.
