Stubbs, Hurricanes Top Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Izaha Stubbs hit five 3-pointers on his way to a 23-point night as the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team Thursday handed Monument Mountain its first loss, 63-57.
 
Nicholas Waterman scored 13, and Vance Eugene scored six of his 12 points in a pivotal second quarter.
 
In the second, the Hurricanes outscored the Spartans, 20-6, to open a 36-21 half-time lead.
 
Matthew Hall added nine points in the win.
 
Noah Helmke scored 16, and Dion Brown added 14 to lead Monument Mountain (8-1), which hosts Mount Anthony on Saturday.
 
Hoosac Valley (6-2) goes to MCLA to play Mount Greylock on Saturday.
