SHEFFIELD, Mass. — The Hoosac Valley girls' basketball team continued to roll on Thursday, notching its fourth straight blowout win with a 71-26 victory at Mount Everett.

The Hurricanes (6-2) got off to a fast start, opening up a 15-2 lead to start the game. Their offense clicked the entire night, leading to a season-high in points scored. Ron Wojcik's club went up 33-14 at halftime and put the game away thanks to a 23-point third quarter in which Hoosac nailed five 3-point shots.

"Our pressure caused numerous turnovers, which led to many fast-break lay-ups," Wojcik said, "We also shot the ball well, especially in the third quarter. We're looking to continue our progress in a big game against Lenox on Tuesday night."

Junior forward Megan Rodowicz and sophomore guard Amber Lesure led the Hurricanes' offense with game-high 15 points. Lesure had two of Hoosac's seven threes on the night, while Rodowicz also added six rebounds. Junior guard Jenn Gale had a solid overall game, playing great defense in addition to scoring 11 points with four rebounds and four assists. Freshman Madison Ryan did a nice job of distributing the ball with a team-high eight assists.

Deseraye Conaway and Brooke Morehouse each scored eight points for the Eagles, who fell to 1-4 with the loss.

The 'Canes host the Millionaires at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in a game that will heavily influence the South Division standings.
