Hoosac Hosts Coaches Vs. Cancer Moved to Sunday

UPDATE: Friday evening, it was announced the event was moved to Sunday - same tip times - because of concerns about travel for the teams coming to Cheshire from the Pioneer Valley.

 

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Four area girls basketball teams will compete on Sunday in the Coaches Vs. Cancer showcase at Hoosac Valley.

 

The event, a fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society, features four Berkshire County teams taking on foes from the Pioneer Valley.

 

The games tip off at noon with Wahconah against Granby. Drury will meet Frontier at about 1:30, and Mount Greylock will face Hampshire at 3.

 

The afternoon concludes with the host Hurricanes taking on Athol.

 

Seven of the eight teams in action on Saturday at Wahconah were among the 13 who advanced to the MIAA Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament last winter.

 

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students.
