Occasionally, those of us lucky enough to reside in Berkshire County take for granted the beauty of Autumn and unique fall-time events our area has to offer. We’ve put together a list of October Berkshire musts, whether it be businesses that help you prepare for the season, ridiculously fun events, or destinations that thrive in fall. Hilltop Orchards

An historic apple orchard in the Berkshires and home to award-winning Furnace Brook Winery – invites you to visit and explore our 200 acre property in Richmond, Massachusetts.

  • We grow 26 types of apples (most available for pick-your-own).
  • Free hayrides 11-5 on Saturdays and Sundays up through the orchards (Labor Day weekend through Columbus Day Weekend). No Hayrides available on weekdays.
  • The Farm Winery Store sells delicious homemade fruit pies, scones and our famous cider donuts and of course our apples!
  • In addition to are Furnace Brook Wines, we sell our fresh pressed cider, all natural lemonade and hot cider (in the cooler weather)
  • Visitors can hike to the hilltop or on one of our groomed woodland country trails to get a true sense of fall in the Berkshire
