Polito Touts Infrastructure Projects in South County

Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito assured local officials here that she's making sure small towns have access to funding for projects critical to their growth. Greylock Works received a $2,176,341 MassWorks grant last fall to redo the entry and parking lots on the east and south side of the sprawling structure. Part of that grant was a 10-year easement for the city to allow use of the parking for the adjacent Alcombright Athletic Complex.

Adams Preparing to Celebrate 19th Amendment's Centennial

The centennial of the 19th Amendment is still four years away but town officials are laying plans now to mark its anniversary. The Selectmen voted Wednesday to create an advisory committee to organize celebrations and commemoration efforts for the 100th anniversary of the amendment's passage, which will take place in 2020.
