ADAMS, Mass. — The Adams Ale House has reopened under new management.

 

New owners Robert Williams and Jen and Bill Lander agree that if it isn’t broke don’t fix it.

 

"This place had great bones and it already has a great concept," Williams said. "We want to add our twist and elevate it and just offer a good dining and pub experience for people who live in Adams and those who may not live in Adams."

 

The former Saints Hall on Hoosac St. was purchased and renovated by Erik Pizani and Nathan Girard in 2013. Last year what became the Adams Ale House closed for re-staffing and renovations and has been closed since.

 

In February, Girard met with the Board of Selectmen to request an all alcohol and entertainment license and said he planned to lease the building. That's where Williams and the Landers came in and Williams said the three, in a way, stumbled upon the opportunity.    

 

"It was coincidence and matter of chance. We were looking for a gaming venue…so we met with the previous owners of this place to see if it was available," Williams said. "So we did a walk through and it was turnkey. It was a good location before."

 

Williams, a Dalton, native said he grew up working in restaurants and bars and wants to bring this experience to the Ale House which he sees as already a success.

 

"I have just been around it my whole life, and I have worked in and out of bars since I was young. I just bounced around…I fell in love with it," he said. "We want this to become a destination in Adams and in the Berkshires, especially when Northern Berkshire County is booming."

 

Williams touted the bar’s 22 taps and labeled the menu as "elevated pub food."

 

"Elevated pub food — everything is fresh," he said. "Our chef is amazing, and our kitchen staff is great. We have a good team and that is one of the biggest things here."

 

The menu includes various flavors of chicken wings, buildable burgers and something called a "Double Dog Dare!" — two hot dogs or a ten-inch sausage served with pretty much whatever you want on it.

 

Williams said currently they are renovating the side room which one day will host various games. He said he hopes to restore the bowling lanes and add corn hole lanes.

 

Williams said they want to draw people to Adams and offer that cornerstone Berkshire County pub experience people can find in places such as the Freight Yard Pub and The Old Forge.

 

"We look at Fright Yard Pub and The Old Forge and those kinds of places as the benchmark," he said. "That is the way it should be done in Berkshire County and if we can add to that we will be proud."

 

Williams said they held a soft opening this week but have a grand opening planned Thursday.

 

"We are excited to be in Adams the town has been great to us," he said. "We couldn’t have asked for a better community to be part of."

 

Adams Ale House is located at 8-10 East Hoosac St. and opens at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and at noon Friday through Sunday; closed Monday and Tuesday.
