JUPITER, Fla. – Hoosac Valley graduate Matt Koperniak Tuesday went 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs for the St. Louis Cardinals in a split-squad Spring Training game against the Florida Marlins.

 

Koperniak doubled home a pair of runs in the second inning of an 11-10 Cardinals win.

 

The 2016 Hoosac Valley graduate has appeared in 20 games this spring for the Cardinals, going 8 for 26 at the plate for a .308 batting average and a .718 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage). He has driven in five runs with a pair of doubles.

 

The Cardinals have seven more Spring Training games left, finishing on Tuesday against Chicago. Opening Day for St. Louis is Thursday, March 28, at the Los Angeles Dodgers.
