Staff ReportsiBerkshires.com
NORTH ADAMS, Mass —The Pittsfield Babe Ruth 15-year-old All Star team beat North Adams to complete a Berkshire County District Tournament sweep for the city as the 13 and 14 year old teams both defeated North Adams in their respected age groups on Friday and Sunday. The 15-year-old Pittsfield team fell behind North Adams by a run in the second inning but answered back with two runs of their own in the third to take a lead, followed by three runs in the fourth and an insurance run in the fifth to put away North Adams, 6-2.

Kevin Donati and Chad Shade both scored two runs to account for four of Pittsfield's six runs in the game.  Donati did his job as the team's lead off hitter finishing the night 2 for 4 with two singles and a RBI to go along with the two runs scored.  Shade was just as effective at the number two spot in the lineup getting on base in three out of four at bats with a single, a walk, and reaching on an error.

Bobby New went six plus innings to get the win on the mound for Pittsfield giving up two runs on seven hits with four walks and two strikeouts.  New helped his cause with the bat as well going 1 for 2 with a RBI single and a walk. Anthony Jones knocked in a run and chipped in with two singles for Pittsfield while Mitch Clary had two sacrifice flyes to drive in two runs. Clary had a monster tournament with an on base percentage over .750 and smashing a total of four triples.

North Adams first baseman Jake Benzinger had a solid day for his team scoring their only two runs and going 2 for 4 with two singles and a walk.  Kirby Bryce used the sacrifice squeeze to score Benzinger in the second inning and drove in Nother Adams's second run on a RBI single in the fourth, he finished 2 for 2 with two singles.
