Inspired by the Illustrators of Light exhibition, kids and families can explore how Norman Rockwell and other artists captured attention and sold ideas through illustration.
These artists didn’t just tell stories; they designed advertisements to make products irresistible and showcase everyday life in captivating ways. Take a tour with one of our educators, to learn more, then see if you have what it takes to create an eye-catching advertisement just like the masters!

OPENING RECEPTION 'VULNERABLE EARTH'

"Vulnerable Earth" at the opening reception at the Tremaine Gallery, The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Conn. Curated by Greg Lock, the exhibition brings together video, photographic, and digital media by artists who have participated in the Arctic Circle, reflecting on the rapidly changing Arctic landscape and the broader ecological questions surrounding climate change. HOFFMANN BIRD CLUB: ANNUAL BANQUET – WITH SPECIAL GUEST DREW VITZ

State Ornithologist Drew Vitz will present on traditional and contemporary bird conservation efforts, including the use of GPS data loggers and the Motus tracking system to study species like the Wood Thrush and American Kestrel. Held at The Proprietor’s Lodge on Pontoosuc Lake, the evening includes a cocktail hour followed by dinner and the formal keynote presentation. 15TH ANNUAL HOTCHKISS FILM FESTIVAL

The 15th Annual Hotchkiss Film Festival, hosted by the Hotchkiss Film Club, will be held on April 25, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in Walker Auditorium at The Hotchkiss School. This milestone event features a curated program of original short films by student filmmakers from around the world, showcasing excellence in storytelling, cinematography, and artistic vision. The selected films will be judged by filmmakers and alumni Brian Ryu ’13 and Luke Gardiner ’21, with awards presented for Grand Jury, Best Cinematography, and Best Story.
