Learn valuable skills that could save a life. Our informative, hands-on courses include training in First Aid and CPR/AED for adults, children, and infants. Red Cross certifications are valid for two years. This is a blended learning class with a 2-3 hour online component. About a week before the in-person skills session, the instructor will contact you with information about completing the online learning portion of the course before the in-person training.

LEE HISTORICAL SOCIETY SPEAKER SERIES: THE STONES CRY OUT - EARLY EPITAPHS FROM LEE

Tyringham resident John Hanson will give an illustrated talk, The Stones Cry Out: Early Epitaphs from Lee at the Lee Senior Center, 21 Crossway Street, Lee. He will have copies of his book available for purchase at the end of his presentation.This presentation is free and open to the public and is part of the Lee Historical Society Speaker Series. Look for the lanterns near the Senior Center entrance. Parking is available along the North entrance to Crossway Village as well as on Academy Street. Refreshments will be served.

NORMAN ROCKWELL’S STOCKBRIDGE WALKING TOUR

Take a guided walking tour of downtown Stockbridge and discover how the town and its inhabitants both inspired Norman Rockwell and appeared in some of his most iconic works of art. Explore the history of this 1734 village–including its Mohican origins.
Stops will include Norman Rockwell’s home on South Street, his first studio on Main Street, the Old Corner House (site of the original Norman Rockwell Museum), Chief John Konkapot’s property, the Red Lion Inn, the former site of Alice’s Restaurant, and more!

OPENING RECEPTION: JACOB'S PILLOW

The public is invited to the opening reception for a new public history exhibit, “Jacob’s Pillow in Lee, Mass.,” at the Scolforo Gallery at the Lee Library. Pamela Tatge, Executive & Artistic Director of Jacob’s Pillow, will give brief welcoming remarks along with the exhibit's researcher and curator Joshua D. Bloom.
The exhibit traces the long and often overlooked relationship between the internationally renowned dance hub Jacob’s Pillow, and the neighboring town of Lee from the early 1930s to today.
This exhibit is made possible, in part, through a grant from the Lee Cultural Council, a local agency funded by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Author Marcia Jo Zerivitz’s Jews of Florida tells the comprehensive history of Jews in the Sunshine State. Despite not being officially allowed to live in Florida until 1763, Jewish immigrants escaping expulsions and exclusions were among the earliest settlers, and Jews have been arriving ever since. Marcia will share some of their stories: Olympians, Nobel Prize winners, computer pioneers, educators, politicians, Yiddish writers, artists, and more. The book’s rich narrative—accompanied by 700 images, most rarely seen—is the result of three-plus decades of grassroots research.
