Bernard J. Courtemanche, 72
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Bernard Joseph Courtemanche, 72, of 743 Massachusetts Ave. died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 3, 1941, a son of Joseph and Beatrice Blain Courtemanche, he attended schools there until his family moved to Pittsfield, where he graduated from Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Courtemanche was employed as a driver for United Postal Service for more than 20 years. He had earlier worked at the former General Electric in Pittsfield and had been a driver part time for J.T. Bus Lines
He was a very kind, devoted and loving husband who will always be loved.
He and his wife, Patricia Atwell Lescarbeau-Courtemanche, were married June 30, 1990.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Cheryl Doherty and her husband, James, of Virginia and Karyl Courtemanche of Colorado; a son, Jaryl Courtemanche and his wife, Stephanie, of Colorado; three stepsons, Timothy Lescarbeau and his wife, Lisa, of North Adams, Todd Lescarbeau and his wife, Staci, of Greenfield and Thomas Lescarbeau of Texas; a brother, Francis Courtemanche of California; a sister, Barbara Boden and her husband, Glen, of Pittsfield; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren, five stepgreat-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Ernest Courtemanche.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Courtemanche will take place Friday, March 1, at 8:15 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 from St. Elizabeth's Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Lung Association, VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire or the donor's choice through the funeral home.
