Stuart K. Sprague, 89
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Stuart Kenneth Sprague, 89, of 227 Franklin St. died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at North Adams Commons.
Born in Wardsboro, Vt., on Oct. 18, 1923, son of Lafayette H. and Edith Wilder Sprague, he attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1941.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Sprague was employed by Morrison Berkshire Machine Co. and its predecessor, James Hunter Machine Co., for 45 years until his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. He was a member of the Post 125 American Legion and enjoyed reading and cross word puzzles. He had a special love for his children and grandchildren.
He leaves his wife, the former Barbara Marsh, whom he married on July 1, 1944; a daughter, Carol Ann Ford and her husband, Rudolph, of West Pembroke, Bermuda; two sons, Paul Sprague and his wife, Sheila, of North Adams and Lake Worth, Fla., and Neal Sprague of Newington, Conn.; a brother, Robert Sprague and his wife, Kathleen Drury Sprague, of North Adams; seven grandchildren, Peter Sprague and his wife, Shari, Lyndsy Ford, Ashley Burke and her husband, Corey, Ryan Sprague, Dylan Sprague, Matthew Knight and Jordan Knight, and many nieces and nephews.
A daughter-in-law, Angela Sprague, and his four brothers and two sisters, Marilyn Sprague, Gail Pirnie, Ronald, Bertrand and Milton Sprague, and Lafayette Sprague Jr. all predeceased him.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Sprague will be celebrated Monday, April 15, at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday morning from 9 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth's Church in care of the funeral home.
