Florence E. Harris, 97
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Florence Elaine Harris, 97, of 339 Eagle St. died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Cheshire on Oct. 27, 1915, a daughter of H. Frank and Essa Hull Bliss, she attended schools in Cheshire and graduated from the former Adams High School.
Mrs. Harris was employed for more than 40 years as a payroll clerk at the former Sprague Electric Co.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She also was a member the Sprague Electric Quarter Century and Stamford (Vt.) Senior clubs.
Her husband, Wilfred Harris, died Oct. 7, 1977.
She leaves a daughter, Elaine Pierce and her husband, James, of Clarksburg; a son, William Harris and his wife, Sally, of Loudon, Tenn.; five grandchildren, W. Leland Harris, Kimberly Pyne, Linda Corsi, Ronald Pierce and Gary Pierce, 12 great-grandchildren and her niece, Carol Shartrand.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Grace Bliss and Thelma Hudon.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Graveside service for Mrs. Harris will take place Monday, June 17, at 11 a.m. at Cheshire Cemetery, with the Rev. David Anderson of First Baptist Church of North Adams officiating.
