Thomas F. Peckham Jr., 72

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Retired Army Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Frank "Jake" Peckham Jr., 72, of 89 Lois St. died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.   Born in Framingham on April 28, 1941, son of Thomas F. Peckham Sr. and Annabelle Babcock Peckham, he attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. He also attended college. An Army veteran, Mr. Peckham served in the Army Reserves for 32 years. He was last employed for the Department of Defense at General Dynamics in Pittsfield. His family owned and operated the former Peckham Dairy and he was also proprietor of Tom's Auto Repair in Williamstown.     He was a member of the Berkshire Lodge of Masons and Franklin Chapter 92 of the OES. He was a member of the Melha Shrine. A nature lover, he enjoyed fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He and his wife, the former Adelaide Massimilla, were married on April 28, 1975.    Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Thomas F. Peckham III of North Adams and Kenneth B. Peckham and his wife, Cara, of Pittsfield; a stepdaughter, Christine Lazarczyk and her husband, Joseph, of Farmville, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Paul, Matthew, Jake, Lillian, Sophia, Richard, Michael and Marie, and a great-grandson, Julian.    His daughter, Tammy Peckham, died on May 18, 1983.   FUNERAL NOTICE - Calling hours for Mr. Peckham will be Saturday July 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 15, at 11 at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, Vt. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Shriner's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.

Deep condolences to the entire great family. Mom worked with my sister for years in the NA school system. They all worked hard at the garage in Williamstown. And I believe Tommy still holds a swimming record from 25+ years ago at the Northern Berkshore YMCA. Wonderful people.

grew up with tommy went to brayton with him and he was always smiling and easy going guy . i remember going to a boston ball game with him --- old braves -- had a ball my thoughts are with you
