Kenneth Martin, 90
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Kenneth Martin, 90, of 36 Sperry Ave. died Monday, July 22, 2013, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Fall River on April 9, 1923, a son of John Howard and Edith Mather Martin, he attended schools in Fall River and graduated from Durfee High School.
A decorated Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, he served as a corporal.
Mr. Martin was employed as a dispatcher for the North Adams Water Department. He had earlier worked at the former J.J. Newberry Store and the former Sprague Electric Co.
His wife, the former, Catherine Champagne, whom he married Sept. 9, 1950, died Aug. 28, 2009.
He leaves a son, John H. Martin and his wife, Carol, of North Adams; three grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Martin, Jessie Lee Martin and John Kenneth Martin; five great-grandchildren, Rylie Krutiak, Darren Appleton, Keira Martin, Braley Cox and Randy Cox Jr.; a niece, Joan Boardman Bigos of North Berwick, Maine, and a nephew, the Rev. Paul J. Boardman of Summerfield, Fla.
He was predeceased by five sisters: Margaret Dufresne, Sarah Vincent, Dorothy Boardman, Alice Hedly and Constance Guilmette.
FUNERAL NOTICE — At Mr. Martin's request, there will be no funeral services. Private burial will take place in Southview Cemetery. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
