Carolyn L. Cummings, 82
FLORIDA, Mass. — Carolyn Louise Cummings, 82, of 83 Mohawk Trail died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 2, 1931, daughter of Harold and Mabel Gifford Martin, she graduated from Drury High School in North Adams.
Mrs. Cummings had been employed as secretary to the Board of Selectman. Before that, she worked at the former Yankee Nuclear Power Plant in Rowe.
She was a member of Florida Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Her husband, Philip Cummings, whom she married in 1949, died in 1970. They were married in 1949.
She leaves a son, James Cummings of the town of Florida; a sister, Barbara Sampson of South Berwick, Maine; and nieces and nephews.
Her son Kevin Cummings died in 1982; her brother, James Martin, and sister Eleanor Johnson are also deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Mrs. Cummings will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 11 in Florida Church Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
