Betty J. Kelley, 87

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Betty J. Kelley, 87, of 671 Curran Highway died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at North Adams Commons. Born on Vashon Island, Wash., on July 29, 1926, a daughter of Harold and Alice Cronin Stevens, she attended schools in North Adams and graduated in 1944 from Drury High School. She also graduated from the former Bliss Business College. Mrs. Kelley was employed as the account clerk for Northern Berkshire District Court. She also had worked in the offices at former Clark Biscuit and Ralston Purina companies and Cascade Co. in her earlier years, was the payroll clerk for several years in the office of the superintendant of North Adams Public Schools. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. She was a founding member of the Northern Berkshire Mineral Club, member of the Parkinson Support Group and a member of the walking club at the Spitzer Center. Her husband, Paul Taemer Kelley, whom she married April 20, 1963, died Aug. 4, 2001. She leaves a son, George Taemer Kelley of North Adams and her former daughter-in-law, Linda Burdick and her husband, Ray, of the town of Florida. She was predeceased by her son Paul Taemer Kelley Jr. on April 8, 1972 and her siblings Doris Rennell and Harold Stevens. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Kelley will take place Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 10:15 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 from St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, Aug. 26, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Elizabeth's Church or to the North Adams Commons Activities Fund through the funeral home.
