Jacqueline L. Kupiec, 66
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Jacqueline L. Kupiec, 66, of Mohawk, N.Y., formerly of North Adams, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 30, 1947, daughter of Harrison Hall and Jacqueline Bartlett Hall Blinn, she was a longtime resident of the city, moving to Mohawk in 1989. She graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1965 and from the Medical Assisting Program at Charles H. McCann Technical School in 1988.
Mrs. Kupiec had been employed as a nursing assistant from Masonic Care Community of New York in Utica before retiring. She had earlier worked as a seamstress at CB Sports, where she assisted with uniforms for the New England Patriots and several U.S. Olympics teams, as a nursing assistant at Willowood of North Adams, and later as a bookkeeper for Braytonville Garage.
She was very active with the McCann Booster Club throughout the 1980s, and was also a troop leader for Cub, Boy and Girl Scouts in the North Adams area for several years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, truck pulling and playing with her dog.
She leaves her husband of 47 years, Peter Kupiec; two sons, Keith Kupiec and his wife, Michelle, of Savoy, and Scott Kupiec of Mohawk; a daughter, Kim Oakes and her husband, Cliff, of Monroe; seven grandchildren, Emily Anderson, Hunter Oakes, Zoe Oakes, Kierra Kupiec, Mackenzie Kupiec, Nevaeh Kupiec and Mercedes Nichols; three sisters-in-law, Cheri Kupiec, Linda Kupiec and Janet Voiles; a brother-in-law, Bruce Kupiec, many nieces and nephews and her close friend Gloria Decker.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Mrs. Kupiec will be held at Monroe Cemetery on Sunday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m.
