Mary Alice Lefebvre, 68
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mary Alice Lefebvre, 68, of 45 Central Ave. died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Sept. 7.
Mrs. Lefebvre was a recent participant in the tobacco-awareness programs sponsored by NARH and was featured in a series of articles published in The Berkshire Eagle and the North Adams Transcript.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 17, 1933, daughter of William E. Fuller and Isabelle Benoit Fuller McGraw, she attended the former St. Joseph's Grammar and High schools.
Mrs. Lefebvre began her career as a nurse's aide at the former North Adams Hospital, now NARH, and later was employed by the former Tally House Restaurant and the former Sprague Electric Co. She worked at the Boston Seafood Restaurant and at the former Captain's Cabin Restaurant in Williamstown and worked on the front desk of the Williams Inn in Williamstown and as a front desk manager of the former Sheraton Hotel. She retired in 1981.
A communicant of St. Francis' Church, she was a member and past commander of the Women's Auxiliary of Dr. George Curran Post 996 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a member of the auxiliaries for the Disabled American Veterans, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and American Legion Post 125, and a member of Greylock Community Club.
Her husband, Leo Pacifique Lefebvre, whom she married April 25, 1953, died Aug. 14, 1981.
She leaves a daughter, Diane M. Groh of North Adams; a son, Mark P. Lefebvre of Pawtucket, R.I.; a sister, Eileen F. Grieco of North Adams, and five grandchildren.
A son, Leo P. Lefebvre Jr., died Aug. 29, 1954, and a sister, Claire Fuller Robert, on Nov. 24, 1988.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Lefebvre will be Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 8. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested for the Tobacco Awareness Program and Respiratory Care Unit of North Adams Regional Hospital through the funeral home.
