Donald R. Adams, 80
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Donald Roland Adams, 80 of 106 Cliff St. died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on May 12, 1933, son of Aurelian J. and Helena E. Giroux Adams, he attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1951.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Adams was employed by the former General Electric Co. for 42 years in its Naval Ordnance Division in Pittsfield until his retirement.
He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing and bowling.
Survivors include his wife, the former Shirley Ann Morse whom he married on Sept. 19, 1953; two daughters, Lisa Lamont of Rochester, Mich., and Barbara Norcross of Jericho, Vt.; a son, Robert Adams of Williamstown; six grandchildren including Joshua Norcross, James Lamont, Kaitlin Lamont, Samantha Adams, Jacob Adams and Thane Adams; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers are deceased, Robert Adams and Laurence Adams.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Calling hours for Mr. Adams will be Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 to noon at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will be private.
