Helga McConnell, 69
CHESHIRE, Mass. — Helga McConnell, 69, of Devonshire Drive died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in Vienna, Austria, on June 23, 1944, daughter of Maria Schmied, she attended schools in Vienna and completed her studies in massage and cosmetology. She came to the United States in 1975, settling first in Adams and then in Cheshire.
Ms. McConnell established her own business, Helga Esthetics, which she operated until the time of her death.
She was a member of the Berkshire Portal. She also enjoyed making fine jewelry and was a Shaklee product representative.
She leaves her son, Ludwig Herson, with whom she resided; her brother, Siegfried Schmied of Vienna; her cousin, Gottfried Vesely of Switzerland, her close friend Sibylle Baughan of Pittsfield and many other friends and clients.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Ms. McConnell will be Sunday, Dec. 29, at 1 p.m. at Unitarian Church, 175 Wendell Ave., Pittsfield. Burial will be private.
