Doris M. Primmer, 85
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Doris M. Primmer, 85, of East Road died on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on July 24, 1928, a daughter of Henry Albert and Marie Roberts Brooks, she attended schools in North Adams.
Mrs. Primmer was employed at Price Chopper Supermarket in North Adams until her retirement. She had earlier worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams.
Her husband, Donald Kirkwood Primmer, whom she married on Sept. 2, 1950, in the former Notre Dame Church in North Adams, died March 29, 2013.
She leaves three daughters, Donna Bernardi of Colorado Springs, Colo., Beverly Kirby and her husband, Daniel, of Stamford, Vt., and Suzanne Cahoon and her husband, Wayne, of Hampstead, N.C.; a son, William Primmer and his wife, Patricia, of Stamford; a brother, Albert H. Brooks and his wife, Mary; 10 grandchildren, Kathryn Barnhardt and her husband, William, Elizabeth Peloquin and her husband, Edward, Sarah McAfee and her husband, Ryan, Lindsey Jenness and her husband, Ian, Christopher Bernardi and his wife, Nicole, John Kirby, Laura Kirby and Thomas, Cody and Colton Primmer; five great-grandchildren, Catelynn, Reed, Benjamin, Isabella and Chase, and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Primmer will take place on Thursday, Jan. 16, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested for the Eileen A. Barrett Foundation Inc. through the funeral home.
