Sylvia Kaigle Kateley, 85
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Sylvia Alice Kaigle Kateley, 85, died on Monday, Feb. 18, 2014, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on June 25, 1928 a daughter of Louis and Alice Wright Chalifoux, she attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School.
Mrs. Kateley was employed at the former Green Mountain Race Track in Pownal, Vt., and lastly as the dining room manager at the Williams Inn in Williamstown.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Her first husband, Roger Joseph "Red" Kaigle, whom she married on Oct. 1, 1945, died May 19, 1987.
She leaves her husband, Robert Kateley; three sons, Roger J. Kaigle and his wife, Natalie, of Cape Cod, Stephen A. Kaigle and his wife, Louise, of Orlando, Fla., and the Rev. Kenneth H. Kaigle and his wife, Susan Brazeau Kaigle, of Adams; a brother, Louis Chalifoux Jr. of North Adams; a sister, Shirley Boucher of North Adams, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE - A Memorial and Committal Service for Mrs. Kateley will take place in the spring at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
