Rod Bunt, 56
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Ross Anthony "Rod" Bunt, 56, of 21 Chesbro Ave. died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Bunt had been the first director of tourism for the city of North Adams and was director for several years of the annual Fall Foliage Festival Parade.
Born in Yaphank, N.Y., on Aug. 3, 1957, a son of Rose Greener Bunt and the late John Bunt, he attended schools in Yaphankand graduated from Oneonta (N.Y.) College in 1979.
Mr. Bunt was first employed for 19 years as a disc jockey at the WNAW/WMNB radio station and more recently as the proprietor of Love Your Pets, a pet-sitting service.
He loved baseball, listening to his tunes, watching Ken Burns documentaries and animals, even squirrels. He enjoyed to-do lists and playing fix-it around the house, but most of all loved watching the Yankees while listening to his girls talk and laugh in the next room.
He and his wife, the former Rochelle Friedman, were married Sept. 19, 1981.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves his three daughters Alicia Bunt, Angela Bunt and Jacqueline Bunt; a brother, Don Watson, and sister, Mary Roth.
FUNERAL NOTICE &mdash A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Bunt will take place on Thursday, May 22, at Mary Immaculate Church in Bellport, N.Y. Burial will follow in Yaphank Cemetery.
