David C. Lewis, 74
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — David Carl Lewis, 74, of 42 Apache Drive died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014 a Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 3, 1939, a son of Baden and Violet Larabee Lewis, he graduated from Drury High School.
Mr. Lewis was a self-employed caterer and for many years, the director of food service and manager of the former North Adams Country Club and of the North Adams American Legion.
He was a member of the pitch and cribbage leagues at the Legion. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf, card games and the horses. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and traveling to Lake George.
His wife, the former Leona O'Reilly, died Oct. 27, 2011.
He leaves a daughter, Deborah Kendall and her husband, Carl, of Pittsfield; a son, David Michael Lewis and is fiancée, Kimberly White, of Middleborough; three sisters, Dianne Hein of Clarksburg, and Patricia McConnell and Cynthia Emery, both of North Adams; three brothers, William Lewis of Williamstown and Thomas Lewis and Foster Lewis, both of North Adams; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; stepchildren Sandra Richardson and her husband, Kyle, of Adams, Christopher Deluca of Naples, Fla., and Thomas Chandler and his wife, Diane, of Jacksonville, Fla.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services to celebrate Mr. Lewis' life will take place Thursday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial Donations are suggested in his memory through the funeral home.
