Michael P. Marran, 71
ADAMS, Mass. — Michael Peter Marran, 71, of Adams died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in North Adams on March 16, 1943, son of John and Marion Benner Marran, he graduated from Drury High School.
He was a Navy veteran.
Mr. Marran was a firefighter for the city of North Adams for 28 years. He was last employed by Dufour Bus Co. until his retirement in 2009.
He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
His first wife, the former Sandra O'Neill, died on Nov. 6, 1999.
He leaves his wife, the former Cynthia Lee Cooper, whom he married on Nov. 11, 2011; a daughter, Diane Marran of North Adams; a son, Michael P. Marran Jr. and his companion, Eileen, of Pittsfield; a brother, Richard Marran and his wife, Joann, of Hinsdale; seven grandchildren, Quinlan, Brianna, Quinton, Dakota, Kaylee, Jordan and Autumn; two stepchildren, Jennifer Chrishman and Jason Gay; his mother-in-law, Donna Cooper Goodell; four sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Marran will be Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 11:00 a.m. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 at the funeral home. Donations may be made in his memory to the funeral home.
