Sandra L. Konieczny, 71
ADAMS, Mass. — Sandra L. Konieczny, 71, of 17 Cross St., died late Monday evening, Aug. 3, 2015, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 17, 1943, a daughter of Kenneth and Pearl Chamberlain Stewart, she came to Adams at age 5 with her family, and graduated from the former Adams High School with the class of 1962. She also attended the former North Adams State College.
Mrs. Konieczny was employed as the secretary for First Congregational Church for 20 years. She then worked as a private housekeeper for several years until retiring.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and of its Women's Fellowship. An amateur artist, she enjoyed painting, as well as reading, sewing, arts and crafts; she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She and her husband, Charles P. Konieczny, were married on July 6, 1963.
Besides her husband of 52 years, she leaves three daughters, Tammy Winters and her husband, Sam, of Hancock, Wendy Lamberton and her husband, Bryan, of Adams, and Tracy Swicker and her husband, Keith, of Cheshire; a brother, Robert Stewart and his wife, Gail, of Severn, Md.; a sister, Priscilla Shepherd and her husband, Wayne, of New Ashford; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service celebrating Mrs. Konieczny's life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 15 Commercial St., Adams, with the Rev. Donald E. Gray, pastor, officiating.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
