Marguerite L. Fournier, 96

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marguerite Lucienne Fournier, 96, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 27, 1919, daughter of Arthur and Adeline Rougeau Couture, she attended the former Holy Family Parochial School and graduated from the former Notre Dame High School.
Mrs. Fournier was first employed at the former Greylock Mill and was lastly by the former Cornish Wire in Williamstown for 15 years until her retirement in 1970.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was a longtime communicant of the former Holy Family Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting and travel, and was devoted to her family.
Her husband, Adrien A. Fournier, whom she married May 30, 1940, died on May 6, 1983.
She leaves three daughters, Laurette Desormeaux and her husband, David, of Penhook, Va., Suzanne Johnson and her husband, Richard, of North Pownal, Vt., and Alice Racette and her husband, David, of North Adams; a son, Richard G. Fournier and his wife, Nancy, of St. Cloud, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and her longtime friends, Rachel and Barbara Viens.
She was predeceased by two daughters, Rita Guht in 2000 and Stella Beaudin in 2015; two sons-in-law, Vincent Beaudin and William Guht; a sister, Yvonne D'Amico, and three brothers, Gustave, Bernard and George Couture.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Fournier will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Fournier's family would like to thank the staff of Williamstown Commons for their love, care and friendship.
