Shirley E. Millis, 88

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Shirley Elizabeth Millis, 88, of Malta, N.Y., and formerly of North Adams, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, at the Home of the Good Shepard in Ballston Spa, N.Y.

Born in Adams on Nov. 3, 1927, a daughter of Nicholas and Jesse Raidy Thoros, she graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1945.

Primarily a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Millis was employed for a short time at the former Sprague Electric Co.

She had been a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church. She moved to New York in 1997 to be with family and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clifton Park Elks.

Her husband of 41 years, John Edward Millis, is deceased.

She leaves three sons, Glenn Millis and his wife, Bonnie, of Mechanicville, N.Y., Michael Millis and his wife, Stacey, of Halfmoon, N.Y., and Mark Millis and his companion, Amanda Kanaracus, of West Boylston; a sister, Marianne Albuquerque of Smithfield, R.I.; four grandchildre, Carrie Millis Babe and her husband, Terry, Katie Millis Wyss and her husband, Troy, Jonathan and Jessica Millis, and four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Evelyn Babe and Hunter and Kyle Wyss.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Millis will take place at Tuesday, Dec. 29,  at 1 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. North Adams.

Calling hours will take place Tuesday from 11 to 1, prior to the service. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Home of the Good Shepard are appreciated.

So sorry to hear of Shirley's passing; my dearest and oldest friend. My prayers and thoughts are with her family during this difficult time. She will be fondly remembered for all the good times we had together.
