Robert B. ‘Bob’ Lapan, 87

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Robert B. “Bob” Lapan, 87, of North Adams died Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center.
He was born in North Adams on May 10, 1928, son of Medos and Mary (Yard) Lapan. He attended local schools.
Bob was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Army. He was last employed by the Cornish Wire Co.
Bob was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fly tying. He was an excellent wood worker and also enjoyed gardening with his late wife. He was devoted to his family.
His wife was Eva Mae (Shattuck) Lapan, who died on February 15, 2010. They were married on October 17, 1955.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Gillooly and Virginia White; one son, Richard Lavigne; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Bobby Cook.
He was predeceased by one sister and one brother, Vera Cook and Roger Lapan, and three grandchildren, Kim, Terry and Joey.
Funeral notice: The funeral for Bob Lapan will be Friday, April 22, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours are Thursday, April 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to any homeless veteran's organization in care of the funeral home.
