James B. Boland, 58

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. James B. Boland, 58, of 9 Hathaway St., Adams, died on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at North Adams Commons.
He was born in North Adams on October 23, 1957, son of Shirley (Reeves) Boland. He attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School in 1976. He graduated from Berkshire Community College in 2009 as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Mr. Boland served and worked with the United States National Guard for 20 years from 1978 until retiring in 1998 as a staff sergeant. He last worked as a Veterinary Technician for Berkshire Veterinary Hospital in Pittsfield.
Besides his mother of Adams, he is survived by a daughter, Rebecca McConnell and her husband J. of North Adams; two sons, James and Jesse Boland of North Adams; four grandchildren, Kenley and Felicity McConnell and James and Joelle Boland; one sister, Lisa Waltermire and her husband Jim of Adams and their children, Jenna and Matthew; one brother, Timothy Boland of Rochester, N.H., and his children Timothy and Nicole; his lifelong best friend Paul Moorman; and his best pal, his dog Elvis.
He was predeceased by his brother, Jeffrey R. Boland; and by his longtime friend, Kris Boucher.
