Irene L. Martell, 89

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Irene Lucille (Lecuyer) Martell, a loving and kind person, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at her home at the age of 89. She is reunited in Paradise with her beloved son, Clyde "Buster" Davis.
She was born in North Adams on October 3, 1926, daughter of the late George and Colombe (Lussier) Lecuyer. She attended schools in Canada and moved back to the United States as a teenager.
Mrs. Martell last worked as a certified nursing assistant for numerous nursing homes and home health care agencies in the area. Earlier she had worked for the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams.
She had attended the First Baptist Church in Cheshire. She loved camping, spending time at her camp in Vermont and being with her family. She had shown great courage through many years of illness and had beautiful blue eyes and a smile that will be remembered by all.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph P. Martell, whom she married on March 11, 1978; one daughter, Darlene Tinney and her husband Wayne of Adams; one daughter-in-law, Teresa Davis of Dalton; two stepsons, John Martell and his family and Edward Martell; four grandchildren, Kim Dangol and her husband Ramesh, Jeffrey Davis and his wife Menchie, Tessa Tinney Lange and her husband Colin, and Jennifer Faulconer; nine great-grandchildren, Jason, Ryan and Kevin Dangol, Alice and Justin Davis, Snowden and Kieran Lange and Madison and Morgan Faulconer; her cousin, Theresa Dubie and her family; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her son Clyde "Buster" Davis; her great-granddaughter, Alexandria Davis; her stepson, Joey Martell; and by her brother, Albert Lecuyer.
Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Friday, May 13, at 5 p.m. in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, with Rev. William Furey. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
