Patricia A. Callander, 68

ADAMS, Mass. — Patricia Ann (Gleba-Pikul) Callander, 68, of 17 Pleasant St., Adams, died Friday morning, May 13, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
She was born in Adams on June 9, 1947, daughter of the late Zigmund Gleba and Helen (Fryn) Gleba Pikul. Her father died when she was a small child, and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, the late Frank Pikul. She attended Adams schools, graduated from the former Adams High School with the Class of 1965, and went on to graduate from the Andover (MA) Institute of Business.
Pat last worked as assistant store manager of Big Lots in Pittsfield until retiring in 2006. Earlier, she had worked at Wal-Mart in North Adams and at the former Plunkett Studios, Arnold Print Works and Waverly Fabrics, all in Adams.
She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. She enjoyed trips to the casinos, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Cross of Adams; a son, Joseph Callander and his fiancée, Aja, of North Adams; seven grandchildren, Kendra, Brittany, Karlee, Corey, Zoe, Destiny and Lilly; two sisters, Karen Levesque and her husband Walt and Gay Frieri and her husband Steve, both of Adams; and a niece and two nephews.
Funeral notice: A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 18, at 1 p.m. in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Rev. Steven Montesanti, pastor of the Parish of St. John Paul II will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited.
