Joseph Belch Jr., 92

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Joseph Leon Belch Jr., 92 of 12 Daniels Court died on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

He was born in Adams on June 21, 1923, son of the late Joseph and Frances (Ramocki) Belch. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School with the class of 1941. He later graduated from the General Electric Apprentice Program.

Mr. Belch was a Veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Navy Air Corps until receiving his Honorable Discharge on May 20, 1946.

Mr. Belch worked as a foreman in the Power Transformer Division of the former General Electric Co., Pittsfield, for 44 years until retiring.

He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. He was a member of the Adams Post 160 American Legion, the PNA in Adams, the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Society, Adams, and the Forest Park and Wahconah Country Clubs. He had also been a Boy Scout troop leader and a member of the National Ski Patrol for several years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Irene C. Gutowski; three sons, Charles Belch of Pownal, Vt., Joseph Belch and his wife Lisa of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Christopher Belch of Adams; and five grandchildren, Mitchell Belch and his wife Ann, Christie Belch, Matthew Belch, Michael Belch and Christopher Belch.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorak Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday, June 7, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Stanislaus Kostka School, 108 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220.
