Bruno Ziarnik, 93

ADAMS, Mass. — Bruno Ziarnik, 93, of Adams died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at Sweet Brook of Williamstown Rehabilitation & Nursing Care Center.
He was born in Savoy, Mass., on May 21, 1923, a son of the late Adam and Julia (Betley) Ziarnik. He attended Cheshire schools.
Bruno was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and served from 1942-1945. He was first employed for ten years at the former Shapiro Motors on North Street in Pittsfield as manager of the auto body shop and then for two years by the former Pieri Motors in the auto body shop. He was last employed by the former O'Connell Cadillac and Oldsmobile dealership in Pittsfield and Hellawell Cadillac from 1958-1985 as manager of the auto body shop, retiring in 1985.
He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams. He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and flew airplanes at the former Adams Airport in the 1940s. He was married to the former Mary Finik, who died on March 27, 2004; they were married in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church on November 10, 1945.
Survivors include his daughter, Darlene J. Frieri and her husband Dennis of Adams; one brother, Edward Ziarnik of Pittsfield; one sister, Nancy Lens of Feeding Hills; two grandchildren, Krystle Frieri and her partner James Thomas II of Adams; Tristan Frieri and his partner Ashlee Goodrich of Adams; two great-grandchildren, Ian Frieri and Aria Frieri-Thomas; his sister-in-law, Rosemary Ziarnik of Adams; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Robert B. Ziarnik; four brothers, Ferdinand, Casimer, Leonard W. and William S. Ziarnik; and two sisters, Helen Grocki and Susan LaBlue.
Funeral notice: Services will take place Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at 9 a.m. from the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 25 Hoosac St., Adams, with the Rev. Steven Montesanti, Administrator, officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Plot in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
Calling hours will be Friday, Aug. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
