Judith A. Curtin, 86

ADAMS, Mass. — Judith A. Curtin, 86, of Adams died early Sunday morning, September 4, 2016, at Williamstown Commons after a short illness. 

She was born in Adams on March 8, 1930, the daughter of the late Irving and Mary (Walsh) Curtin. She attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School with the Class of 1948. She then graduated from the University of Mary Washington with the Class of 1952. 

She was a teacher in the Adams elementary schools from 1952 until her retirement in 1987. 

An avid golfer, she was a member of the Forest Park Country Club in Adams for over 50 years, winning many tournaments. 

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams, and had been a communicant of the former St. Thomas Aquinas Church. 

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John I. and Margaret T. Curtin of Adams; as well as several cousins. 

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at 10 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams.  Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. 

Calling hours are Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the St. John Paul Food Pantry, PO Box 231, Adams, MA 01220.

Miss Curtain was my favorite teacher. I loved her gentleness and her sense of humor. So sad to hear of her passing.
