Barbara A. Adams, 73

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Barbara Ann Adams, 73, of Yorkshire Drive died Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center.
She was born on May 12, 1943 in Pittsfield, the daughter of the late Robert W. and Mary Ellen Welden Finnegan. She was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
Barbara was employed at Guardian (Formerly Berkshire Life Insurance Company) for thirteen years as a New Business Assistant. She also worked for more than 30 years at the former Jimmy's Restaurant.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. She enjoyed cooking, taking cruises, trips to Maine, bowling, feeding her birds and spending time with her family.
Barbara was a 22-year survivor of a kidney transplant given by her daughter Anne-Marie Killbary.
Barbara is survived by her husband, David M. Adams; her daughters Denise M. Smith and her husband Charles of Pittsfield and Anne-Marie Killbary and her companion Joseph Hogue of Pittsfield; her sons, Michael R. (Mannix) Connors and his wife Cheryl of Pittsfield and Scott P. Connors of Dalton, Mass.; her sisters, Kathleen M. Tatro and her husband John of Pittsfield and Marybeth Mack of Dalton; her brothers, John L. Finnegan and his wife Susan of New Jersey, Walter D. Finnegan and his wife Sarah of New Hampshire and Robert W. Finnegan and his wife Elaine of Springfield, Mass.; her brother-in-law Walter Lorenz of Springfield; her seven grandchildren; Shenna, Michael, Jessica, Kristen, Adam, Alyssa and Christopher; her three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sister, Christine M. Lorenz; and a brother-in-law, Daniel Mack.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Church celebrated by the Rev. Monsignor Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of Renal Dialysis in care of the funeral home.
