Amelia Zatorski, 95

LEE, Mass. — Amelia “Mel” Zatorski, 95, of Lee passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016, in Boulder, Colorado, where she had resided with her daughter.

She was born in Lee on April 29, 1921, the daughter of Battista and Anna Grumolato Montini. She was raised and educated in Lee and graduated in the class of 1938 from Lee High School. She married Stanley Zatorski on October 18, 1941. Stan passed away on October 3, 1991.

Mel worked as a secretary for the Perini Construction Company in the 1950s when they were building the Massachusetts Turnpike. She also worked for the Mead Corporation Specialty Paper Division as a secretary in the accounting department and eventually retired in 1986 as an administrative secretary in the marketing department.

After her retirement from Mead she lived a dream of traveling and seeing the world.

Mel leaves behind her daughter, Nona Mansfield and her husband William of Longmont, Colorado; three grandsons, Michael of Longmont, Paul (Betsey) of Burlington, Mass., and Chris (Renee) of Vero Beach, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Lily, Emma, and Frankie; and her sister, Mary Murray of Lee.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Tulio Montini, and her husband Stan.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mel will be on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Lee with the Rev. Brian McGrath, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. At the request of the family there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mel’s memory to St. Mary’s School in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
