Louis C. Segala, 87

ADAMS, Mass. — Louis Columbus Segala, 87, of Adams died Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Springside Nursing Home.
He was born in North Adams, Mass., on October 12, 1929, son of Luigi and Maria Segala. Louis was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Army. He was last employed at Mount Greylock High School and had previously worked at Sprague Electric Co for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and was a member of the Adams American Legion. Louis enjoyed collecting stamps and coins and horse racing. He was an avid fisherman. He especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandsons.
His wife was Florence (Wolkowicz) Segala, who died on February 20, 1996. They were married on September 22, 1956.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Jennifer Segala of Hobe Sound, Fla.; his two grandsons, Troy of New York City and Austin of Hobe Sound, Fla.; four sisters, Angelina Downs, Mary Therrien, Margaret Stefanski and Jacqueline Cote; one brother, Frank J. Segala; his sister-in-law and friend, Valerie Piantoni; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister and three brothers, including Catherine Griswold, John Segala, Joseph Segala and a brother who died at birth.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Louis Segala will be celebrated Monday, November 21, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours at are Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St. North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
