ADAMS, Mass. — Robert Eugene O'Dell, 66, of Commercial Street died on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at his home.

He was born in North Adams, Mass., on September 26, 1950, a son of the late Ernest S. and Arlene (Lancto) O'Dell. He attended schools in Williamstown, graduating from Mt. Greylock Regional High School. He was a decorated veteran in the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War.

Mr. O'Dell was a self employed landscaper in Williamstown. He was a member of both the VFW and the American Legion in North Adams.

He was the widower of the former Kathaleen Goodell. They were married on July 4, 1975, and Mrs. O'Dell died on May 17, 2013.

Survivors include his son, Robert E. "BJ" O'Dell Jr. of North Adams; three brothers, Ernest O’Dell of North Adams, John O’Dell of Florida and Michael Porter of Cape Cod; and his sister, Anita Kozma of North Adams.

Funeral notice: Graveside services with Military Honors will take place in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, in the spring. Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home, 74 Marshall Street, North Adams, are in charge of arrangements.
