Lucille Barone, 84

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Lucille "Lucy" (Falco) Barone, 84, of North Adams passed away at home on Sunday, November 27, 2016, with family.
Born in North Adams on January 31, 1932, daughter of Peter and Mildred (Reed) Falco, Lucy was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 46 years beginning in 1950. Having worked at several different plants, Beaver Street mill, Union Street, Marshall Street, and finally Curran Highway in the filter division, she saw Sprague at its height, employing nearly four thousand people, and witnessed the downsizing that would take place until her retirement in 1996.
She enjoyed traveling, taking several cruises, visiting Switzerland, Italy, and countless towns and cities throughout the States. Most of all, she enjoyed the trips she would take to Disney World seeing and experiencing the rides with her husband and twin granddaughters. She took great pride in her yard planting flowers and keeping a well-manicured lawn. One could often see her zipping-along on her red riding lawn mower. She also loved dogs and was never without one for long. Among her favorites was Sassie, who came to be regarded as the nearby airport mascot.
She was predeceased by a sister, Christine Traugut; and brother-in-law, William Traugut.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 58 years, George Barone; a daughter, Kim Serrano; twin granddaughters, Amy and Heather Michaels; nieces Diane Phillips and Melody Luttmann; a grandniece, Kristy Phillips; and a great-grandniece, Kira Phillips Rippere.
She was best known and will be remembered for her sense of humor and laughter.
Funeral notice: Funeral Services will be celebrated Friday, December 2, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery.
