Marcia J. Payette, 72

ADAMS, Mass. — Ms. Marcia Jane (Pontier) Payette, 72, of Adams died on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a brief illness.
She was born in North Adams on May 13, 1944, a daughter of the late Joseph and Philia (Kwasnicke) Pontier. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1962.
Ms. Payette was a well-known seamstress, having owned and operated her own business for the past 25 years, The Drapery Factory in Pittsfield. She had also worked for many years at Waverly Fabrics in Adams.
She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams. She was a homemaker at heart and devoted her life to her business and her family.
She is survived by her five daughters, Laurie Beliveau of Taunton, Mass., Mary Ann Hopkins of Orlando, Fla., Tammy Payette of Beverly Hills, Calif., Lisa Payette of Adams and Connie Payette of Beverly, Mass.; one brother, Robert Pontier and his wife Marion of Denellin, Fla.; one sister, Julia Mendel and her husband Robert of Adams; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Gerald Pontier; and by her longtime companion, Dominick DaSilva.
Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Robert Miskell. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams.
