Dorothy "Dot" Stachura, 87

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" (Rivard) Stachura, 87, of Adams died on Friday, December 30, 2016, at Albany Medical Center.
She was born in North Adams on July 26, 1929, daughter of the late William and Laura (Trombley) Rivard. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School.
Dot was a homemaker and was devoted to her children and grandchildren.
She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, walking, and most recently enjoyed doing activities with other residents of the Mill Houses.
Her husband, Stanley J. Stachura, whom she married on April 15, 1950, passed away in 2011.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Conklin and her husband Peter of Hancock, Kathy Morrissette and her husband Michael of Adams and Debra Belanger and her husband James of Adams; one son, John Stachura and his wife Tina of Adams; seven grandchildren, Jason and Allison Ziarnik of Oregon, Jacob Belanger of Adams, Caitlin Therrien of Stamford, Vt., Jeslyn Stachura of Adams and William and AJ Morrissette of Adams; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Coleson Ziarnik; two sisters-in-law, Stephania Louison and Lillian Rivard; and many nieces and nephews whom she was very fond of.
She was predeceased by four brothers, William, Jack, Robert and Leon Rivard.
Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams.
Burial will be at a later date in the spring. Calling hours are Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Camp Ashmere, which was very dear to Dorothy's heart, in care of Bob St. Pierre, 131 Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
