Elizabeth I. Cole, 68

NORTH BENNINGTON, Vt. — Elizabeth I. Cole, 68, a longtime resident of North Bennington, passed away peacefully at Crescent Manor Care Center on Friday, December 30, 2016.

The daughter of Warren and M. Elizabeth (Moore) Lake, she was born in Bennington on January 23, 1948. She grew up with her family in Dorset and was a graduate of Burr & Burton Academy. "Liz" worked at Mack Molding in Arlington during her younger years before spending several years at home caring for her children. While living in North Bennington she later worked at Jard Company and as a school bus driver transporting special needs children, developing a strong and caring relationship with them. For 23-plus years she worked at the J.K. Adams Company in Dorset, retiring for health reasons.

Liz enjoyed reading, crocheting, doing puzzles and word searches, attending lawn sales, playing cribbage, fishing, dancing, and listening to many fun types of music. She loved flowers and was proud of the fact that she could identify countless types by name, and had also been a ladies league bowler in Bennington. However, most of all she enjoyed having fun with her family.

She leaves behind her daughter, Diana King and husband Jason of Barre; sons Daniel Jamieson and wife Laura of Texas, Michael Jamieson and wife Bonnie of Sunderland and Matthew Cole and fiancee Eddi Lynn of North Bennington; husband Richard Cole of North Bennington; brother Warren Lake III and wife Rosie of Bennington; sisters Wanda Bowen and husband Jack of Sunderland and Lorraine Brown and husband Jim of East Arlington; grandchildren Daniel Jr., Ashley, Devon, Jesse, Hannah, Kathryn, Emily and Hunter; her former husband Jack Jamieson of Shaftsbury; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral notice: A service to celebrate her life will be held at the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home  on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 2 p.m. A light reception will follow. Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home, 213 West Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
