NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Michael Nash Morin, 87, of North Adams died Friday January 6, 2017, at Hillcrest Commons.

He was born in North Adams on April 30, 1929, son of Carl and Anna (Nichols) Morin. He attended local schools.

Mike was last employed at Sprague Electric Co. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Mike was a Boston Red Sox and North Adams Steeplecats baseball fan. He loved horse racing and enjoyed bowling.  He was proud of his outdoor Christmas lights and 4th of July celebrations.

His wife was Theresa Rose (Lavigne) Morin, who died on January 26, 2015. They were married on June 25, 1955.

Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Burnell of Florida, Mass.; two sons, Carl Morin of North Adams and Stephen Morin of Florida, Mass.; four grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Garrett and Mikyra; one great-grandson, Jason Jr.; two sisters, Josephine Johnson and Julia Morin of North Adams; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers, including Lillian, Mamie, Richard, Gouch, Joseph and Edward.

Funeral notice: The funeral for Michael Morin will be Friday, January 13, 2017, at 10:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.

Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, January 12, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m.  Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
