Robert Marsden, 69

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — Robert "Bobby" Marsden, 69, died unexpectedly at his home in Stockbridge on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
He was born in Pittsfield on April 9, 1947, the son of the late George E. and Victoria T. Zerbato Marsden. He attended St. Mary's School and was a 1965 graduate of Lee High School. He graduated from Christian Brothers College in Memphis in 1970.
He was a former sales rep for American Home Foods and then worked as a plumber for Pilling and Son and later for Ron Paul Plumbing. Most recently he had worked as a caretaker for a private estate in Stockbridge.
Bobby enjoyed fly fishing, gardening and woodworking. He volunteered as a Little League coach, a Boy Scoutmaster and volunteered for the Housatonic Valley Association (HVA). He was a former member of the Lee Sportsmen’s Association and Stockbridge Sportsmen’s Club. He served on the Stockbridge Conservation Commission from 1984-1986.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 37 years, the former Jorja-Ann Pilling, whom he married on May 19, 1979; his son, Christopher Marsden of Stockbridge; his sister, Ann Marie John and her husband Paul of Greenfield Center, N.Y.; his uncle Michael Zerbato and his aunts Perina Buffoni and Juliette Zerbato; along with several cousins.
Funeral notice: Visiting hours for Robert Marsden will be on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. Cremation will follow and there will be a graveside service in the spring.
