Mary Ann Calvi, 89

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mary Ann (Siciliano) Calvi, 89, of North Adams died Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at her home.
She was born in North Adams on July 11, 1927, daughter of Jerry James Siciliano Sr. and Exilda D. (Betti) Siciliano. She attended local schools and graduated from North Adams State College in 1950.
Mary Ann taught school in Connecticut for several years and then taught at Mark Hopkins and Greylock Elementary School in North Adams from 1953 until her retirement in1986.
She was a life-long communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Mary Ann was an avid golfer and was a longtime member of Taconic Golf Club.
She was the widow of Julius M. Calvi, who died on January 22, 2009. They were married on December 27, 1960.
Survivors include her nieces Gayle Siciliano Gilooly, Teresa Siciliano, Mary Eileen Field, Patricia Siciliano, and many other loved ones.
She was predeceased by four brothers, including Jerry J. Siciliano Jr., Arthur G. Siciliano, Thomas V. Siciliano, Lawrence M. Siciliano; and two nephews, including Arthur "Mickey" Siciliano Jr. and Jerry J. Siciliano III.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mary Ann Calvi will be celebrated Monday, February 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery.
A calling hour will be held on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St. North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
