ADAMS, Mass. — Fronie Whitney (Jones), 93, a lifetime resident of Adams and Cheshire, passed quietly in her sleep on Monday, January 30, 2017. 

She was born August 8, 1923, in Adams to R.B. and Mildred Jones. She married and had four children with her husband of 35 years, Charles B. Whitney, who is deceased. She was loved and is missed by her beloved companion of 30 years, Wes Williamson. 

She is survived and missed by her sons, Peter and his wife Eileen, Michael and his wife Carolyn and Jay; and was predeceased by her son, Charles A. Whitney. She is also survived and missed by her nine grandchildren (Eric, Sam, Chad, Elise, Lauren, Jessica, Brent, Quinn, and Carly) and her four great-grandchildren (Olivia, Sage, Cole and Alden). 

Fronie dedicated her life to the family business, Whitney's Farm, and to raising her large and boisterous family. She loved to travel and was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved and is missed by all.

Funeral notice: A Celebration of Life for Fronie Whitney, 93, who passed away on January 30, 2017, will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 11a.m. at the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, celebrated by the Rev. William D. Furey. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Fronie's memory can be made to the Berkshire Union Chapel in care of the funeral home.
