Florence D. Haskins, 88

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Florence Dolores (Scrivens) Haskins, 88, of Union Street, North Adams, died Monday, February 6, 2017, at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Center in Pittsfield, Mass.

She was born in North Adams on November 4, 1928, a daughter to the late Clarence H. and Eveline (Bedard) Scrivens. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from St. Joseph's High School. She worked at Sprague Electric for many years and was last employed at Ashley Swift Plumbing Co. until her retirement.  

Mrs. Haskins was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She enjoyed puzzles but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Haskins was the wife of Robert William Haskins Sr., whom she married September 13, 1947. Mr. Haskins died on June 2, 2016.

Survivors include her daughter, Marcia Ann Martello of Pittsfield; a son, Robert W. Haskins Jr. and his wife Teresa of North Adams; four grandchildren, Lisa Jamros and her husband Ed, Stanley Martello and his wife Karen, Mateo Martello and his partner Chadwick Judge, and Adam Beer; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Corey, Rachel and Heather; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers and five sisters.

Funeral notice: Private services will be held at Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, North Adams, with a burial in Southview Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Lewy Body Dementia Association through the funeral home at 74 Marshall St., North Adams.
